How to use Velaphi

Guides for customers, restaurant partners, and drivers. Updated 18 September 2026.

1. Overview

Velaphi has three surfaces:

  • Velaphi Go: customer app for browsing, ordering, paying, and tracking.
  • Partner portal: restaurants and home kitchens register, manage menus, and handle orders.
  • Velaphi Driver: drivers upload compliance documents, get approved, go online, accept jobs, pick up, and deliver.

Customer ordering launches 1 November in our first launch areas. Partners and drivers can prepare ahead. Short FAQs live in the Help Center.

2. Customers: Velaphi Go

2.1 Get the app

Download Velaphi Go from the App Store or Google Play.

Allow location and notifications when prompted so nearby restaurants and order updates work.

2.2 Create an account

  1. Open Velaphi Go → Register or Sign in.
  2. Use email and password, Google, or Apple Sign-In where available.
  3. Add your name and phone if asked.
  4. Save at least one delivery address.

2.3 Place an order

  1. Confirm your delivery pin so the app shows restaurants that can deliver to you.
  2. Browse a menu, add items, and choose options when offered.
  3. Review cart, delivery fee, and notes, then pay with Paystack.
  4. Watch status updates in the app until delivery.

2.4 Track and receive

  1. Open Orders (or your active order).
  2. Follow status: confirmed → preparing → out for delivery → arrived → delivered.
  3. Be ready at your pin when the driver is nearby.
  4. If something is wrong, contact support with the order details.

2.5 Payments and account deletion

  • Paystack processes payments. Velaphi does not store full card numbers.
  • Saved cards are tokenized by Paystack when that feature is offered.
  • Refunds follow order status and support review.

3. Restaurants: Partner portal

Partners use backoffice.velaphi.com.

3.1 Quick start

  1. Register as Home kitchen or Restaurant and upload the required PDFs.
  2. Wait until the account is Active.
  3. Settings: logo, hours, banking, then Go Online when ready.
  4. Menu Management: add items, then Edit → Options for sizes and extras.
  5. During service, use Active Orders (Accept → Mark Ready → PIN handover).

4. Drivers: Velaphi Driver

Drivers use the Velaphi Go Driver app. Full guide (sign-up, compliance, Online, offers, pickup PIN, drop-off code, earnings): Driver guide.

4.1 Quick start

  1. Download Velaphi Go Driver on the App Store or Google Play and register with phone + OTP.
  2. Upload compliance documents under Account → Compliance documents (ID, licence, vehicle papers, banking; PrDP if GVM over 3,500 kg).
  3. Wait for Velaphi AdminHub approval and vehicle link before you can go Online.
  4. Slide Online, accept offers within the countdown, then follow pickup → delivery → customer code.
  5. Slide Offline only after any active trip is finished.

5. Where we deliver

At launch (1 November), Velaphi starts in these areas:

  • Lamontville
  • Montclair
  • Prospecton
  • Malukazi
  • Mobeni
  • Folweni
  • Umlazi

What you see depends on restaurant coverage and drivers nearby. Set your delivery pin in Velaphi Go to check your address.
