Driver guide

Velaphi Go Driver, from sign-up to completed deliveries. Updated 18 September 2026.

1. Overview

Velaphi Go Driver is the delivery app. Flow: sign up → upload compliance documents → Velaphi approves and links vehicle → Online → accept offer → restaurant pickup → customer drop-off.

  1. Download Velaphi Go Driver on the App Store or Google Play.
  2. Allow location and notifications when asked.
  3. Store links also on velaphi.com.

2. Sign up and sign in

2.1 Create an account

First launch opens registration (phone and password).

Accept Terms, tap Sign Up, then enter the 4-digit SMS code. Resend has a short cooldown. After OTP you confirm location.

2.2 Sign in and password reset

  1. Sign in with phone and password.
  2. Forgot password: request a 4-digit OTP, then set a new password.
  3. Same reset path is under Profile → Change password.

3. Compliance and approval

Before you can go Online, upload your documents under Account → Compliance documents. Velaphi reviews them in AdminHub. Only one file is kept per document type; uploading again replaces the previous file.

  • Required: SA ID or passport, driving licence, vehicle registration (RC1), licence disc, banking details and proof.
  • If the vehicle is not in your name: owner consent letter.
  • If your vehicle GVM is over 3,500 kg: PrDP card.
  • Motorcycle, car, bakkie, or van are allowed. Licence code must match the vehicle.
  • Documents with expiry dates must stay current. Expired papers pause Online until you replace them and Velaphi re-approves.

4. Location and vehicle

After auth, confirm location with Use your current location. Matching uses live GPS while you work.

A vehicle must be linked by Velaphi before you can go Online. There is no in-app add-vehicle form. When linked, Home shows make/model and plate. Without one, status stays Unavailable.

5. Home, Online, and offers

Home shows the Online toggle, today’s earnings, offers, an active trip card, and recent deliveries. Profile is under the ⋮ menu.

5.1 Offers

A New Order card shows restaurant, distance, earnings (and tip), and about 30 seconds to respond.

  1. Accept opens New Delivery Request (not assigned yet).
  2. Review details, then Accept to take the job, or Decline.
  3. Timeout, Back, or Decline rejects the offer. One active trip at a time.

6. Delivery trip

6.1 Pickup

  1. Open Confirm Order Pickup (or Continue on Home).
  2. Navigate to the restaurant; match the order number to the bag.
  3. When ready, show your 4-digit pickup PIN to staff.
  4. Wait for the restaurant to confirm handover, then continue.

6.2 Drop-off

  1. On Out for Delivery, tap Start Delivery when you leave.
  2. At the pin, tap I've arrived.
  3. Scan the customer QR or enter their 4-digit code.
  4. Tap Complete Delivery, then return to Home.

Use Message on the drop-off screen to chat. QR camera works in the installed app; otherwise enter the code manually.

7. Earnings and profile

Home shows Earned Today, deliveries, unpaid, lifetime, and recent trips. Refresh if stats fail to load. Banking details and proof are uploaded under Compliance documents; contact support if payouts fail after approval.

8. Permissions

  • Location: Settings → Apps → Velaphi Go Driver → Permissions → Location (while using the app).
  • Notifications: new orders, assignment updates, chat.
  • Camera: customer QR at drop-off.

9. Ready-to-work checklist

  1. Signed in; phone verified.
  2. Compliance documents uploaded and approved (Account → Compliance documents).
  3. Location on; vehicle linked (plate on Home).
  4. In a launch area when Online.
  5. Pickup: show PIN to restaurant.
  6. Drop-off: I've arrived, then customer QR or code.
  7. Offline only after the trip is done.

First launch areas (1 November): Lamontville, Montclair, Prospecton, Malukazi, Mobeni, Folweni, Umlazi.
